This was the biggest game of EL Haynes basketball history tonight, but not anymore as the Mountain Lions advance to the championship game by winning 50 to 59 tonight. So we meet our rival, Latin in the finals Thursday. The two teams finished tied for third place, but since we lost the coin flip we must go to their place for the championship game( red side). We were led tonight in scoring by Ramy (freshman) with 14, followed by Rashad, who played his heart out, with 13, Ty'zhea and Chidi added 12 each.

With all 4 seniors scoring in double figures, the Mountain Lions are undefeated in first round playoff games. The Mountain Lions are 4 and 0 in the first round in school's history. The Mountain Lions are traveling to SEED Tuesday for the second round of the tournament.

We felt that it was in the best interest of the team to forfeit this game tonight. To win or lose this game would not influence our status as for as post season is concerned. With all of the things going on away from the basketball court at this time, we decided to focus on the most important goal, the play offs. Besides if we win Tuesday, there is a good chance we will play National Collegiate in the playoffs.

Haynes Win: 54 - 45
Perhaps the second biggest game of the season with the biggest coming up on Thursday against the undefeated first place SEED, we had balanced scoring that helped the Mountain Lions revenge an earlier lost to second place KIPP. Rashad led all scoring with 12, Adrain and Eddy 11 and Ty'zhea added 9. This is the first game of the season that the Mountain Lions led the game from start to finish. We were challenged in the very end but was able to hold the lead and pull out the victory.

Haynes Lose: 46 - 60
Not an ideal game to play at this time of the season,(non conference, lost by 30 last season to, short man), we wanted to accomplish a few goals. And we did exactly that. At the beginning of the fourth quarter the game was tied at 40. The guys fought to the very end and left in my mind, the feeling that we are ready for the playoffs. Although we lost the game Eddy led the Mountain Lions as he tied his season high with 20 points.

A much earned win tonight as we improve our record over 500. Ty'zhea led all scores with 12, Ramy added 10. Rashad had another good all around game once again. A strong defensive 2nd quarter was the key to the Mountian Lions victory. We have another big game tomorrow against rival Wash. Latin.

Going into tonight's game after a disturbing 2 pt. lost last night, we needed a big win to get back on the winning track. Not only did we win, we played our best game of the season as we beat WMST 66 to 32. We were led by Rashad with 15, Adrian with 13, and Eddy and Ramy finished with 11 each.

Bad execution down the stretch cost us a much needed win tonight. It is a shame because bad decisions at the end ruin a breakout game by Ramy Beatriz, a freshman, who led the Mountain Lions with a team high 18 pts.followed by Adrian Somerville with 10 pts.

With our second back to back of the season and our first win of a back to back was big and needed for this team. Although we did have another ankle injury to Kyile, one of our bigs. With four days before our next game I do hope to have them all back by then. We were led by Chidi with a career high, game high and season high 19 pts. Adrian added 13 followed by Rashad and Eddy with 9 each.

The Mountain Lions got a very much needed win as we got back to playing Haynes basketball.We had well balanced scoring from everyone. Rashad had his best game as a Mountain Lion. His rebounding and pg play as well as his defense was excellent tonight.

Another lost tonight on the road puts us in a critical place as far as the team is concern. We have a lot of conference games coming up pretty quit so we must try and turn this around. A win against Paul this Saturday will be a big lift for us. Rashad led the way with 13 and Chidi with 10, Eddy added 9.

Not the toughest lost of the season , but the worse lost of the season. We were in the game ,according to the score, but by the manner in which we played the game we never really showed up to play. We have to regroup tomorrow at practice and right some of these mistake that we made so frequently tonight. Also we must regain the passion that we have been playing with all season.

Another really tough game as we lost 60 - 63 in over time. We had many chances to win but just couldn't make that big play when we needed to. We will be back on the court tomorrow as we go on the road to play Lanham Christian in Lanham Md.

This the third game of the tournament was one that I felt that we could win for sure. And we did have plenty of chances to win. Especially with one second left in the game and Jeo on the free throw line with 3 free throws from being fouled on a 3 pt shot attempt. Unfortunately we missed all three and lost by 2 points.

We ran into a couple of good guards in game two as we lost 60-77. We did start to shoot well in the 4th quarter but the hole was too deep as we had our worst defeat of the season.

After a cold shooting game, we lost the first game of the day by 9 pts. No one shot well at all in this game and we were missing our pg and leading rebounder, Rashad ,who missed the bus in the morning.
